Has your Architect asked for a set of accurate plans?
Does your new building comply with the exempted development conditions?
Is my boundary fence in the right place?
What is a measured survey?
A measured survey is undertaken in order to produce 2D plans and 3D models, that precisely represent the existing physical geometry of your site and buildings. The survey can be of land and buildings and the methods of data capture can range from a simple disto measuring tool, to a high definition laser scanner that records millions of points of 3D spatial information.
The deliverables can be in CAD or PDF format and models can be produced for Revit and for building information modelling. Reports can be prepared to explain the results to assist with party wall and boundary matters.
In short, there are many reasons to conduct a measured land or building survey and I have been doing these for over 25 years from the site of the new childrens hospital in central London to a landslide site in Co. Mayo.
I don’t outsource this work so you get my personal experience every time.
